The Junction is a public media project about the Ensley community in Birmingham, Alabama.
To many people outside of the community, Ensley is merely a crime-ridden, impoverished place. The Junction seeks to reveal a fuller portrait of Ensley through the stories of people who live, work, and play there.
The Junction is a multimedia project created and produced by Mary Quintas and brought to you by WBHM, North Central Alabama's NPR news station. The project is executive produced by AIR - The Association for Independents in Radio - as part of AIR's national initiative, Localore: Finding America.
Financial support comes from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Wyncote Foundation, the John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
